Papermaker Gridiron Association

The Papermaker Gridiron Association (PGA) has been in existence since 1991. The organization’s full charter is to provide a safe learning environment for youth, from the Kimberly Area School District, interested in playing tackle football for a Bulldog Football Team.

The PGA is a registered 501(c)(3) and is run 100% by local volunteers. PGA Members, coaches and various support staff are made up of the generous people who put the lives of youth first and foremost. What these volunteers receive in return is the satisfaction of helping a young child become a young adult.

Becoming a member is more than just attending meetings. There are opportunities to serve in operational roles, while continuing to coach. If coaching is not your forte? Become a member and be a part of the decision making process, which makes our league so great.

Alumni

  • Mike Verstegen

    Verstegen was an offensive lineman for the Papermakers and an All-Big Ten lineman for the Wisconsin Badgers. He followed that by playing in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints, who selected him in the third round of the 1995 draft, and later with the St. Louis Rams.

  • Matt "The Boomer" Vanden Boom

    The “Boomer” was one of the toughest hitters the Wisconsin Badgers have ever put on the field at the safety position. He was twice named First Team All-Big Ten. His three interceptions against Michigan in 1981 rank as one of the great Wisconsin Badger single game performances. He was a 1983 fifth round draft pick by the Buffalo Bills.

  • A.J. Klein

    A. J. Klein was a two time, back-to-back, WIAA State Champion outside linebacker for the Papermakers. He played college football at Iowa State and was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the fifth round of the 2013 draft. Over his career, he played for the Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens.

  • Colten Heagle

    Colten Heagle was a two time, back-to-back, WIAA State Champion for the Papermakers. He played for North Dakota State where he became a four-time FCS National Champion.

  • Mike Hardy

    Mike Hardy was a two time, back-to-back, WIAA State Champion defensive lineman for the Papermakers. He was the starting defensive end for Iowa Hawkeyes. Mike won the “Next Man In” award for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
